Credit Transfer Guidance for First-Year Students

This policy applies to incoming First-Year students at St. Thomas, beginning in Fall 2024 and beyond. It outlines how the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) relates to the core curriculum of our undergraduate baccalaureate degrees.

Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC)

The Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) is a set of general education courses intended to provide students with progress towards a bachelor's degree. First-Year students who complete the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) before they matriculate at St. Thomas will be deemed to have completed the heart of the St. Thomas core curriculum.

First-Year or Transfer Student?

If the credits you want to transfer were earned AFTER you completed your high school degree, then you are a Transfer Student and need to read a different set of guidelines.

To apply this policy, first-year students who have completed the MnTC or AA degree (from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois or North Dakota) need to submit their transcripts to St. Thomas.

For those who completed the MnTC, the MnTC needs to be indicated on transcript.
