Educational Leadership and Learning EdD Student Leading Goals

1. Serve as leaders, allies, and activists for social justice within educational systems and communities.
2. Foster transformational learning and innovative programs in educational environments and communities.
3. Know and use theory, research and best practice to foster student and adult learning and development.
4. Conduct scholarly research to expand the knowledge used to improve learning and educational systems and practices.
5. Emphasize engaging and culturally inclusive curriculum and practices to effectively prepare students for a variety of academic and career pathways.
6. Use critical thinking and reflection, and reflexivity to deepen knowledge of learning, leadership, and effective practice.
7. Model and foster effective and inclusive communication with all stakeholders; use collaboration to engage in continuous improvement and innovative practices.
8. Demonstrate moral leadership and ethical actions to promote the common good. Know and use the professional and ethical standards and competencies in various professional programs/careers to guide leadership decisions and actions.

Leadership in Student Affairs MA Student Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate knowledge of the history of higher education, the field of student affairs, and professional values. Identify points of learning through critical examination of these histories and values.
2. Gain understanding of student development theory and centrality of identity within educational experiences. Apply understanding in practice, particularly related to advising and supporting students.
3. Narrate and demonstrate collaborative, student-centered, and ethical practice in student affairs.
4. Increase understanding of personal leadership capacities. Develop and use skills in identifying leadership capacities in others.
5. Demonstrate understanding of organizational theory, socialization, supervision, advocacy, crisis response, and fiscal responsibility related to administrative practice.
6. Develop an educational practice informed by principles of social justice, inclusion, and equity.
7. Develop and use research skills for program and service planning, assessment, and policy analysis.
